  Agreed, but note - a software firewall that tells you which program is
trying to access what can come very handy in everyday use - a hardware
firewall will not do that. Also, if you configure it properly, it will
not get in your way unless some undefined event occurs.

  The two mix perfectly, both have their reasons for existance, so why
force a choice?
