That's the *point* - the CPU is what's vulnerable here. A suggestion was made to replace the CPU with an ASIC or FPGA. I pointed out that if you did that, then the ASIC would have to do BGP4, because otherwise there'd not be a routing table loaded in the TCAM memory for the line cards to use....
