Are you going to publish it? I'm really interested in such thing.

As I pointed out, it is possible to use RPC.
Microsoft implementation of RPC is (should be) compatible with
DCE RPC, so it is theoretically possible to create 
interoperable RPC applications. I've never seen working
sample.

Moreover, you need to use GSSAPI and Kerberos for authentication.
Microsoft uses SSPI which is compatible with GSSAPI (anyway,
it _is_ GSSAPI, they just renamed the API functions ;).

This could be interesting as a research project. If you are
really going to implemented, please drop me a mail.
Perhaps, we could discuss it if you are interested.
