I assume the law enforcement authorities OR Microsoft's lawyers would be
interested to see any evidence one way or the other ...

Well, at least it's no secret that Microsoft uses Windows XP to send back
information about the customers machine without notifying him about this.
I'd call this a lie about the state of the network.
This is reason enough for me not to trust MS with any version of Windows
more recent than Windows 2000.
