I once read that Ada Lovelace was fond of spilling a little cod-liver oil onto
the bearings of one of the wheels in Babbage's engine. The mechanism would
"slip" a little, from time-to-time, resulting in a VERY perplexed expression on
the good Doctors' otherwise taciturn demeanor. This playful computing prank
predates "rsh <hostname> 'xhost+ ; xroach'" by about 120 years.
