Re: [Full-Disclosure] Script Kiddies [OT]

<html><div style='background-color:'><P>&gt;&gt;Thats because been a sheep
farmer in the australian outback is a lot harder<BR>&gt;&gt;than anything you
will probably do in your life.<BR>&gt;&gt;<BR>&gt;&gt;As for the script
kiddies... all i can say is they have to start somewhere.<BR>&gt;&gt;They might
not write the exploit, but they weren't the ones that made
them<BR>&gt;&gt;public for everyone to use.<BR>&gt;&gt;<BR>&gt;&gt;While i
personally agree that the term script kiddie is overused, alot
of<BR>&gt;&gt;you people are still losing out to these "kids". Starts to make
you wonder<BR>&gt;who the amateurs really are, the people who use exploits
without<BR>&gt;&gt;understanding them or people who are to dumb to secure their
machines<BR>&gt;&gt;against them.</P>
<P>I don't agree with the analogy. I believe it isn't a case of the kiddie
against the security expert but more along the lines of security expert against
security expert.&nbsp; If you find an exploit and make it public then you
should expect that it will be used. The term expert factors in by understanding
the exploit and knowing how to deal with it. Therefore, the expert analogy
would seem to cancel itself out. I do agree that a lot of the experts seem to
be losing against the kiddies, so it seems the amatuers are either tilting the
scales in their favor or the "experts" are not as abundant as it would
seem.</P></div><br clear=all><hr> <a
