True, in which case the store will happily give you another copy of the same
(quite useless) title in exchange for the "defective" (quoted because the
manufacturer won't quite see things that way) copy. Granted, if it happens
several times with the same disk, the store will likely make an exception
and give you the option to take another title (of the same format, i.e. a CD
for a CD, DVD for a DVD, etc) of equal or greater value (you pay the
difference at time of exchange if the new title costs more) in exchange.
Refunds (either cash or store credit) are out of the question unless one
finds a manager willing to violate the policy; something becoming less
common due to pressure (in the form of denied claims) from our suppliers.
