[~]$ host astalavista.net
astalavista.net has address 195.65.88.146

First one is hosted under Cogent Communications and the second at Swisscom
IP-Plus.

Do a whois and traceroute them and you'll see.

Apparently you and Curt are using different toolkits. His, I believe, includes this tool:

($host1, $host2) = @ARGV;

defined($host1) && defined($host2) && print "Hosts are virtual servers on the same machine.\n";

Incidentally, did you know microsoft.com and redhat.com share the same
box?
