[Full-Disclosure] Alternate Fix/Workaround for Jelmer's ADO Activex Bug

Note: Do not modify your registry with carelessness. While I believe it is a 
very 
simple procedure you proceed at your own risk. Further warning, note this page 
for removing the key after Microsoft provides a fix. Some applications, 
especially ASP pages may need this object for proper operation. This is server 
side ASP I am speaking of. It is your responsibility to check and see if you 
need this object. Most people will probably never need this.

** Alternate Fix ** 

create a kill bit for the object*: 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX 

Compatibility\{00000566-0000-0010-8000-00AA006D2EA4}

Create that key:

Start/Run/regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX 

Compatibility\

"Add new key"

{00000566-0000-0010-8000-00AA006D2EA4}

right click new value, "new dword value"

name "Compatibility Flags"

Double click, add 400 in box, hexadecimal.

Boom.

It not longer works.

BTW, I initially tried this page and thought it did not work. Bad on me. It 
does appear to not work, then refreshes, cmd shell opens up, then BOOM, the 
nice little "Help me, help me, I am burning up" exploit runs.

Okay, that is two remote compromise zero days in a week,,. and all of Die's 
bugs (one of which helped make Jelmer's possible). You guys are going to make 
people think this is easy. But, there is a reason you are the same guys finding 
everything, 

You are mutants.

These things said I get the idea that very few people are applying any kind of 
workaround whatsoever. This is not wise.
