Iam sorry guyz .. for using a short hand lingo
Correcting myself now ..
The problem was that when i was reading my mails on
yahoo the media bar popped up. Then the "Download
Accelerator Plus" tried to download a file named
"1.exe" from a link which i could not retain. Was
this
due to the MS02-32 vulnerabilty? Is it possible for
yahoo being infected i.e. having a malformed media
file. I am running Windows XP on my system with IE
6.0.2600 on deafault security settings.
Their is one more problem in my PC. Whenever i try to
open the M$ site on security updates a script error
occurs. Please provide me with some info on this too.
Please advice.
And i really am sorry for using a short hand lingo.
iam sorry. This was the first time i mailed on this
list. so please excuse a newbie.
Hi Saurabh, welcome.
Firstly, you might want to reconsider Download Accelerator Plus -- it
was classified as spyware by some versions of of AdAware (see
http://www.net-integration.net/reviews/editorials/ls.html for a bit more
info).
Regarding the Windows Update page, try accessing this page (using
internet explorer, of course) directly:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
Does your browser give you any debug information?
good luck,
Cael
