EMC RecoverPoint update contains fixes for multiple vulnerabilities that may
potentially be exploited by malicious users to compromise the affected system.
Details:
EMC RecoverPoint is susceptible to the following vulnerabilities:
Sensitive information disclosure
CVE-2016-6648
EMC RecoverPoint is affected by sensitive information disclosure vulnerability
as a result of incorrect permissions set on a sensitive system file. A
malicious administrator with configuration privileges may access this sensitive
system file and compromise the affected system.

Command injection
CVE-2016-6649
EMC RecoverPoint is affected by multiple command injection vulnerabilities
where a malicious administrator with configuration privileges may bypass the
user interface and escalate his privileges to root.

Resolution:
The following EMC RecoverPoint releases contain resolutions to these
vulnerabilities:
EMC RecoverPoint 4.4.1.1 and later
EMC RecoverPoint 5.0
EMC RecoverPoint for Virtual Machines 4.3.1.4 and later
EMC RecoverPoint for Virtual Machines 5.0
EMC recommends all customers upgrade to one of these versions at the earliest
opportunity. Customers are strongly advised to limit administrator privileges
to trusted users and change default passwords to minimize the risk see Security
Configuration Guide for details.
