Summary:
EMC Isilon OneFS is affected by a privilege escalation vulnerability that may
potentially be exploited by attackers to compromise the affected system.
Details:
EMC Isilon OneFS is affected by a privilege escalation vulnerability. The
vulnerability may grant Active Directory (AD) users in trusted domains
root-level access to EMC Isilon clusters if RFC 2307 is enabled on the cluster,
and if Windows Services for UNIX (SFU) is not configured on the trusted domain.
Resolution:
The following versions of EMC Isilon OneFS resolve this vulnerability:
? EMC Isilon OneFS 7.2.1.1
? EMC Isilon OneFS 7.2.0.3
? EMC Isilon OneFS 7.1.1.5
EMC strongly recommends that all customers upgrade to a version containing the
resolution at the earliest opportunity.
Workaround:
If upgrading is not an option, customers can perform the following workaround:
Do not enable RFC 2307 for AD authentication on your cluster unless your domain
and all trusted domains have SFU enabled and configured for all domain users.
