ESA-2014-012: EMC Documentum TaskSpace Multiple Vulnerabilities
EMC Identifier: ESA-2014-012
CVE Identifier: CVE-2014-0629, CVE-2014-0630
Severity Rating: CVSS v2 Base Score: See below for individual scores
Affected Products: Documentum TaskSpace (TSP) 6.7SP1 and 6.7SP2
Summary:
TSP contains fixes for multiple security vulnerabilities that may be
potentially exploited by malicious users.
Details:
TSP may be susceptible to the following vulnerabilities:
1. Privilege Escalation Vulnerability (CVE-2014-0629)
CVSSv2 Base Score: 8.5 (AV:N/AC:M/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C)
Privileged information may be stolen by non-privileged TSP users due to the way
dm_world group users were added to the dm_superusers_dynamic group. This
feature is disabled by default in TSP 6.7 SP1 P25 and 6.7 SP2 P11.
For TSP versions prior to the fixed versions (if Taskspace.DAR is installed),
please follow the manual workaround steps below to disable this feature:
a) Find index of the dm_world in dm_superusers_dynamic role.
a. retrieve c,dm_group where group_name like 'dm_superusers_dynamic'
b. dump,c,l
b) Use the index to remove dm_world from dm_superusers_dynamic.
a. remove c,l,groups_names[<index>]
b. save c,l
With the fix in place, custom task lists can only be viewed by users who have
been manually added to the dm_superusers_dynamic group by an authorized person.
2. Arbitrary File Retrieval Vulnerability (CVE-2014-0630)
CVSSv2 Base Score: 6.8 (AV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:C/I:N/A:N)
Arbitrary files from the TSP application server may be retrieved by modifying
the imaging service URL that is used by viewers to stream the content. This
vulnerability is fixed in TSP 6.7 SP1 P25 and 6.7 SP2 P11. With the fix in
place, the file path parameter is validated and files are served based on
user?s access privilege.
Resolution:
The following products contain resolution to these issues:
? EMC Documentum TaskSpace 6.7 SP1 P25
? EMC Documentum TaskSpace 6.7 SP2 P11
EMC strongly recommends all customers upgrade at the earliest opportunity.
