Summary: 

A vulnerability exists in EMC ApplicationXtender products that may allow an 
attacker to upload arbitrary files on affected systems.


Details: 

EMC ApplicationXtender contains a vulnerability that could potentially be 
exploited by an attacker to create malicious files inside arbitrary locations 
that may lead to remote code execution.


Resolution: 

The following EMC ApplicationXtender products contain resolutions to this issue:

EMC ApplicationXtender Desktop 6.5 SP2 
EMC ApplicationXtender Web Access 6.5 SP2 
Hotfix AX-1164 for EMC ApplicationXtender Desktop 6.0 
Hotfix AX-1165 for EMC ApplicationXtender Desktop 6.5 patch 1 
Hotfix WX-659 for EMC ApplicationXtender Web Access .NET 6.0 
Hotfix WX-660 for EMC ApplicationXtender Web Access .NET 6.5 patch 1
EMC strongly recommends all customers upgrade at the earliest opportunity to 
version 6.5 SP2.  Hotfixes for ApplicationXtender versions 6.0 and 6.5 P1 are 
available by contacting EMC Technical Support.

In order to acquire the hotfixes for ApplicationXtender 6.0 and 6.5 patch 1, 
create a Service Request on the EMC Technical Support Service Center at
