COMPENG is intended to provide an international forum for experts and
professionals working on the latest developments in the fields of
complexity theory and its application in an engineering perspective,
with special emphasis to electrical and communication networks,
electronic and control systems, data collection and mining, and
management of large engineering systems.
*** Technical Programme ***
The workshop will consist of oral presentations held over a two and a
half day period with contributed and invited papers. There will also
be a poster session.
*** Papers ***
Papers should cover original, and not previously published results on
analysis, modelling and control of complex systems, including but not
restricted to the following topics:
1. Power Systems
1a. Dynamic Online Security Assessment
1b. Smart grids automation & control
1c. Distributed Generation Systems
2. Communication Networks
2a. Network and service interoperability and security
2b. Internet of the future
2c. Adaptive and Self-Organizing Networks
3. Large and Complex Agent-based systems
4. Cooperative robotics for critical applications
5. Management of large and complex engineering systems
6. Critical Infrastructures
Papers accepted for presentation at COMPENG will appear in the
IEEExplore Digital Library.
*** Conference Location ***
COMPENG will take place in Roma, Italy, at the Aula Magna of the
Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche building, v.Aldo Moro 8, in easy
reach on foot from the Roma Central Railway Station (Stazione Termini)
as well as from most downtown Hotels.
*** Submitting a Paper ***
Papers should be submitted in camera-ready form, following the style
of the template posted on the Conference web
http://www.ieee-sezioneitalia.it/COMPENG, and edited with the aid of
the IEEE PDFExpress(TM) conversion system.
Length is 3 pages including tables and figures for contributed papers
and 6 pages for invited papers.
Accepted papers will be printed in the Conference Proceedings,
published by IEEE CPS (Conference Publishing Service) and distributed
to all participants, and will also be included in the IEEE Digital
Library. A special issue of an IEEE Journal collecting selected papers
presented at COMPENG is planned after the workshop.
Perspective Authors should send by October 1, 2009, a draft of their
paper (template on the web) to the Conference Secretariat (TBC)
Notification of acceptance will be e-mailed to Authors by November 15,
and the preliminary program will be issued on the conference website.
Camera-Ready papers must be submitted within November 30.
The final program of COMPENG will be posted by December 30 on the
Conference website.
At least one Author per paper must register to the Conference for the
paper to be included in the Proceedings. At least one Author each
accepted paper shall pay the advanced registration fee by December 10.
We suggest you to format your paper according to IEEE-CS guidelines:
